General Information
Do I need to do anything to enable the in-app guides?
No. We will make the guides available across our Star hosted client base starting the week of December 14th.
Is there a cost for the In-App Guides?
No. There is no additional cost.
Will my site be taken down for an upgrade or maintenance to enable the In-App Guides?
No. There will be no downtime or upgrades required. The in-app guides are supported on version 5.0 and above.
Are there Guides for end-user employees?
Not at this time, but stay tuned for additional developments in the new year. 
Guide Specifics
What users will see the in-app guides?

The guides are on the compliance portion of the application only. Any user with access to this functionality will also have access to the guides.

What is the content of the guides?

The content includes helpful tips and excerpts from our user guides. It does not include policy suggestions or information specific to regulations or review decisions. The initial set of guides consists of Document Configuration, Document Management, Document Requests, Data Exports, and Scheduled Document Alerts.

How often will I see new guides?

The guides do not require an upgrade or site downtime to implement new content. We plan to add new guides monthly as we cover more of the compliance side of the application.

Can I configure the guides and content?

No. The guides are centrally managed and contain content relevant to the specific version and features you are using.

Can I bypass the guides?

Yes. All guides can be closed at any point.

About Pendo
Who is Pendo?

Pendo is a third-party analytics provider that StarCompliance uses to capture how users interact with STAR. StarCompliance uses this information to analyze and improve STAR.

What data is collected?

The data collected by Pendo only consists of certain metadata, including the website URL that the end user is interacting with, such as time spent on page and items clicked. We also send the users locale, browser, and operating system related information. We do not send personally identifiable information such as name, email address, or phone number. We also do not send page fill information such as securities, account numbers, contacts, etc.

Where is the data stored?

Pendo’s application and data are hosted and stored in Google’s AppEngine, where they share the same infrastructure as Google’s primary services. The AppEngine allows Pendo to operate in a robust, fully multi-tenant infrastructure with the same reliability, performance, and security characteristics as Google’s own offerings. The Google AppEngine is SOC 2, SOC 3, ISO 27001, FISMA, and PCI compliant, and Google completes multiple independent security audits annually.
