Gabrielle Burne

Gabrielle Burne is a financial services compliance leader with over two decades of experience across international capital markets, spanning regulatory risk, governance, and complex control environments. Gabs holds degrees in Finance, Law, and in Cognitive Science (artificial intelligence), bringing both deep industry expertise and technical insight to discussions on the responsible use of AI in compliance. Her career has included senior roles at NatWest, Danske Bank, Deutsche Bank, and MUFG, she helped to author the Danish capital markets conflicts-of-interest guidance and lectured at Copenhagen Business School. She is currently working with Star Compliance at NatWest to enhance oversight of personal and transactional conflicts, using AI to improve efficiency and support a more intelligence-enabled supervisory model.
