Eric Williamson is a senior regulatory and compliance professional with extensive experience in digital asset policy and financial services regulation. He served as Manager of Overseas Wholesale Banks Supervision at the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) from 2019 to 2021, and was a member of the FCA Crypto Risk Committee. He has specialised in cryptocurrency regulation, blockchain governance frameworks, and CBDC policy development. He has advised major financial institutions on digital asset compliance and has engaged with international regulators, including the PRA, JFSA, and BOJ, on cross-border policy coordination. Currently serves as Director of Compliance and Risk at The Digital Commonwealth Ltd and holds an Advanced Certified Financial Crime Specialist (ACFCS) certification. LSE’s Cryptocurrency, Blockchain, and Disruption certification and has extensive expertise in FCA regulatory frameworks, Brexit, MiFID II, and SMCR implementation.
