The Technical Author is responsible for creating high-quality and in-depth documentation for both internal and external use. They work with various teams to produce and style user guides, maintain internal documentation and create training material in a dynamic environment, as well as create instructional videos to supplement the guides. They must gain experience of all areas of the product and will identify new areas to be documented as well as keep existing documentation up to date.

  • Create and maintain internal technical and client facing documentation, such as product guides and release notes
  • Create written functional specifications for new development, enhancement or maintenance tasks
  • Collaborate with developers and managers to clarify technical issues
  • Liaise with subject matter experts and sales and marketing specialists
  • Working with translators, printers and service providers
Mandatory Skills, Knowledge or Experience 
  • Clear and concise writing skills; ability to convey information in a structured and logical manner
  • Experience of medium to large-scale independent written projects
  • High energy level, with strong facilitation and excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with minimum supervision
Transferable Skills, Knowledge or Experience
  • Interest and/or experience of the financial services industry
  • Interest and/or experience of the software development industry
  • Experience of Technical Authoring tools such as MadCap Flare
