Star was founded in 1999, but in the  era of Big Data, increasing global regulation, and the rise of Software-as-a-Service firms (SaaS), the company is growing by leaps and bounds and is looking for creative, motivated software developers to fill its expanding ranks.

Duties and responsibilities

Required Skills

We develop our software using the Microsoft stack of technologies, employing C# and the Microsoft.NET framework in an Agile Environment. Our web application follows the MVC software architecture pattern, powered by JavaScript libraries, which allows us to deliver a rich, browser-based user experience. As a Star developer, you will report to a Development Lead, and work closely with the rest of the team in the architecture design, development, testing, and deployment of a large-scale software product. You must be a self-starter, driving projects forward and mentoring more junior members of the team.
  • A proven track record developing large-scale, enterprise-level applications in a commercial environment
  • Experience implementing and supporting multi-tier web applications on a Microsoft technology platform (SQL Server and IIS)
  • Experience with: Microsoft .NET framework; C#; .NET MVC; JavaScript; HTML / CSS; SQL Server Development; and an ORM solution (nHibernate would be a significant advantage)
  • You should be experienced with Object Oriented Programming and Design
  • You should be able to design, implement, and deliver high quality software solutions
  • You must have excellent communication skills and be a team player
  • You must have experience working with brownfield / greenfield development projects.

Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks (such as React, JQuery ,RequireJS,)
  • Unit testing/dependency injection
  • Agile frameworks, e.g. Scrum or Kanban
  • Financial services experience
