What are the technical specs for your software?
StarCompliance software is run on the Microsoft Windows Server. It's written in C# using the .net 3.5 framework within the Visual Studio Team Server and using an agile methodology.
Was your application developed in-house or by a third party?
Our software was (and is) developed in-house and does not use any third-party components. For security purposes, however, a third-party security company frequently audits our code base and application.

Managed Hosting
With our managed hosting option, you can sit back and relax while we install, configure and monitor your application on our state-of-the-art server platform. All primary production hardware is hosted at a tier 1 secure data center on a secure hosting platform.
Data Center Security
Data center security features include:
- High capacity redundant generators that guarantee power even during metro-wide blackouts.
- Short-notice diesel generator re-fueling contracts with multiple vendors.
- Multiple uninterrupted power supply systems and n+1 redundancy.
- Multiple redundant HVAC units powered by normal and emergency electrical systems, including cold-water tanks that keep air conditioning units running when changing from direct power to generator power.
- Fire suppression, including early smoke detection, heat detection and dry-pipe sprinkler systems.
- Seismic engineering that protects the data center from earthquake damage.
- On-site security guards
- Unmarked buildings outfitted with false entrances, vehicle blockades, bulletproof glass/walls and cameras with digital recorders and pan-tilt zoom (PTZ).
- Biometric systems, including palm scanners.
- Portals that authenticate only one person at a time.
Hosting Platform Security
In addition to a secure facility, we offer a secure hosting platform with features like:
- Internet firewalls: all traffic passes through two firewalls-one to get from the internet to the application servers and one to get from the application servers to the database servers. Only known traffic may log in to your production environment and firewall logs are monitored regularly for suspicious activity.
- Secure socket layer: an RSA signed 1024 bit SSL certificate on all production websites ensures web data is encrypted during transit.
- Secure file transfer: files from third parties are transferred via FTP or secure FTP and may be encrypted using PGP.

Still not sold on our managed hosting solution? No problem. You can choose to host StarCompliance regulatory compliance software in-house with your own software and hardware infrastructure.
How We Support Client Hosting
Our technical staff will help your team install and configure your new application, providing full technical documentation and training to local database and system administration teams. Plus, when we upgrade the software, we'll send you a package with the updates and instructions on how to install them.
